Digital Marketing for Port Jefferson Businesses
Port Jefferson draws tourists from the Bridgeport ferry, boaters from across Long Island Sound, 26,000 Stony Brook University students, and visitors from every corner of the North Shore. That's a lot of search traffic. We handle SEO, web design, and Google Ads for Port Jefferson businesses from our Deer Park office, about 25 minutes south on Route 347.
A Harbor Village With Four Audiences Searching at Once.
Port Jefferson isn't a typical Long Island suburb. It's a year-round tourism destination with a deepwater harbor, a ferry terminal bringing Connecticut visitors daily, and Stony Brook University five miles down the road with 26,000 students and 15,000 employees. Add in the 8,000+ residents and the North Shore boating community, and you have four distinct audiences searching Google for businesses in Port Jeff at any given time.
That's a huge opportunity if your marketing is set up correctly. A restaurant on Main Street needs to show up when a tourist steps off the ferry and searches for lunch. A medical practice near Mather Hospital needs to rank for patients searching from Setauket, Mount Sinai, and Port Jeff Station. A boutique on East Main needs visibility during the Dickens Festival, the Boater's Maritime Festival, and every weekend in between.
Our office is at 375 Commack Road in Deer Park, about 25 minutes south via Route 347 and Nesconset Highway. We've been building campaigns for North Shore businesses since 2012.

Services for Port Jefferson Businesses
Everything a Port Jeff business needs to reach locals, tourists, ferry passengers, and the Stony Brook University community.
SEO
Port Jefferson sits inside the Town of Brookhaven, the largest town on Long Island. You're competing with businesses from Stony Brook to Mount Sinai to Port Jeff Station for the same search results. We build SEO campaigns that target Port Jefferson specifically so customers find your business, not a competitor in a different hamlet.
SEO ServicesWebsite Design
Port Jeff businesses serve tourists, locals, and the university crowd at the same time. Your website needs to convert someone searching on the ferry, someone comparing options from their house in Setauket, and someone in a dorm at Stony Brook. We build custom sites that handle all three audiences with fast load times and clear calls to action.
Web Design ServicesGoogle Ads / PPC
Google Ads campaigns that reach locals and visitors separately. Tourism-focused ads ramp up around Dickens Festival, summer weekends, and ferry schedules. Service-based ads target residents in Port Jeff, Port Jeff Station, Setauket, and Mount Sinai year-round. We build each campaign around your specific audience and seasonal patterns.
PPC ServicesLocal SEO
Map Pack rankings decide which business gets the call when someone searches "near me" from the harbor, the LIRR station, or Main Street. Port Jefferson's daytime population jumps 41% from commuters, tourists, and ferry passengers. We handle Google Business Profile optimization, citations, and review strategy so your listing shows up first for all of them.
Local SEO ServicesReputation Management
Tourists check Google reviews before they walk into any restaurant or shop on Main Street. Ferry passengers make dining decisions on the 75-minute crossing. A strong review profile with recent, detailed reviews is the difference between a full house and an empty one. We build automated systems that keep fresh reviews coming in consistently.
Reputation ServicesSocial Media
Port Jeff has an active presence on Instagram and Facebook. The harbor photos, sunset views, and Main Street atmosphere drive organic sharing that most Long Island towns don't get. We create content that takes advantage of that visual appeal, manage posting schedules around events and festivals, and run paid campaigns targeting visitors and locals.
Social Media ServicesLong Island's North Shore Harbor Village
The original name was Sowaysset, a Native American word meaning "place of small pines" or "where water opens." The first known home was built in the early 1660s by Captain John Scott. John Roe, an Irish Protestant shoemaker from Queens, built his still-standing home in 1682. The village was called "Drowned Meadow" until 1836, when local leaders filled the harborfront marshland with a causeway and renamed the community Port Jefferson in honor of Thomas Jefferson.
Shipbuilding drove Port Jefferson's economy through the 1800s. The village became Suffolk County's largest shipbuilding center, producing coastal freighters, schooners, and even two whaling vessels for New Bedford in 1877. Today the harbor is home to marinas, Danford's Hotel, and the Bridgeport-Port Jefferson Ferry, one of the oldest ferry companies in America. The ferry carries hundreds of passengers daily between Long Island and Connecticut, making Port Jeff one of only two cross-Sound ports on the island.
Theatre Three, a nonprofit theater company founded in 1969, stages musicals and plays year-round in Athena Hall, a performance space dating to 1874. The Charles Dickens Festival each December transforms Main Street into a Victorian storybook with 120 costumed street characters, parades, and performances. Three hospitals serve the area: Mather Hospital, St. Charles Hospital, and Stony Brook University Hospital. Stony Brook University, five miles south, brings 26,000 students and 15,000 employees to the area. A free shuttle connects campus to downtown Port Jeff.

Why Port Jefferson Businesses Choose Us
Port Jeff is a destination, not just a town. That means your marketing has to capture tourist traffic, ferry passenger searches, university students, and local residents at the same time. Most agencies treat every town the same. We build campaigns around the fact that Port Jefferson's search patterns shift by season, by day of week, and by which audience is searching. We've been doing this for North Shore businesses since 2012.

Port Jefferson Marketing FAQ
Yes. The Bridgeport ferry brings hundreds of passengers into Port Jefferson daily. Many of them search for restaurants, shops, and activities on their phones during the 75-minute crossing. We build local SEO and Google Ads campaigns that target these visitors the moment they arrive in the harbor area. We also ramp campaigns around peak tourism periods like summer weekends and the Dickens Festival.
Yes. Stony Brook University is five miles from downtown Port Jeff and brings 26,000 students plus 15,000 employees to the area. Whether you're a restaurant looking to attract the college crowd, a medical practice serving university employees, or a retailer targeting parents visiting campus, we build campaigns that reach the right segment of the SBU community.
Google treats them as separate locations. Port Jefferson is the incorporated village on the harbor. Port Jefferson Station is the unincorporated hamlet south of the LIRR tracks. Your Google Business Profile address determines which one Google associates with your business. If you're on Main Street in the village, your SEO strategy is different from a business on Route 112 in PJ Station. We set everything up correctly so your listings match your actual location.
Yes. We work with businesses across the North Shore including the Three Village area (Setauket, East Setauket, Stony Brook), Mount Sinai, Miller Place, and the broader Port Jefferson market. Many of these communities share overlapping search areas, so a coordinated strategy across the region produces stronger results.
